What the heck is Harry feeding them?

November 13, 2008 by Chris

Sure, Liverpool put out a second team. But Spurs also made seven changes from the side that beat Manchester City at the weekend with Jermaine Jenas, David Bentley, Luka Modric, Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate and top scorer Darren Bent all missing out. Benoit Assou Ekotto was also replaced, but he’s a bit crap.

So now that we’re aware that this was a weakened first XI for both, it makes Harry’s 4-2 thumping of Liverpool a pretty fair-and-square result. Either Harry got one over on Rafa, or Spurs just have a deeper squad of talent to draw from.

Then again, Spurs beat ‘Pool with their first XI in the league as well. So maybe Harry is just a good manager? This article was only made necessary by the fact that every other media outlet seems to have decided that this was a case of a Big Four team throwing away a match they didn’t need against an opponent giving their all. We thought we’d set the record straight.

Spurs beat Liverpool 4-2. Yes, they did.
