In what was a busy weekend in the Premiership, Liverpool closed the gap at the top of the table to one point after they thrashed Aston Villa 5-0 at Anfield yesterday.
Steven Gerrard scored a hat-trick in the match which was clearly dominated by Liverpool from the beginning. Manchester United lost to Fulham 2-0 on Saturday at Craven Cottage and had Scholes and Rooney sent off. They have a game in hand though and will definitely look to increase the gap after 2 successive defeats in the league.
Chelsea also lost to Tottenham 1-0 at White Hart Lane which puts them 3 points behind Liverpool at 3rd spot while Arsenal beat Newcastle United 1-3 at St.James Park and are 4th in the table.
The relegation battle also seems to be heating up with only 10 points separating the teams at the bottom eight. With only 8 games to go, looks like the Premier League is headed to a thrilling and exciting finish!
