Recession boost for Adultery Business | The Daily Dust delivering the best bric a brac, daily news and events with a British flavour

The adultery business is cashing in on recession worries. The Ashley Madison agency, who’s motto is, “Life is short. Have an affair”, is seeing a sharp increase in business.

Membership to the website soared from 1 million to 3.6 million. This figure is expected to continue to surge after the company launched a mobile service.

Noel Biderman, founder of Ashley Madison said: “We’re not just recession-proof, we’re booming.”

The agency has reached millions of new viewers with an advert of an attractive woman enduring a dreadful dinner date with a boorish man. “Have you ever found yourself on a really bad blind date?” asks the voice-over. “Now imagine that date lasting the rest of your life.”

Mr Biderman is planning a full launch later this year of the business in Britain and Ireland, where it already has 25,000 registered users
