The Norwegian also smashed the competition record with 387 points for his tune Fairytale, in Moscow on Saturday.
The singer-songwriter’s spokesman blamed organisers for providing a cheap trophy.
He told The Sun: “Yes it broke but it was a matter of some weak glue to begin with I think. It’s easy to fix.”
Alexander Rybak now lies third on iTunes in Britain — with Jade at No 16 — and he is being quoted at 12-1 to top the UK singles chart. Wonder what the UK can do to actually win the contest..?
