Pick-Your-Own Chillies, Fill A Barrow
May 19, 2009 by kevin
The UK’s first pick-your-own chilli farm is opening shortly and they are giving you a wheel barrow to fill up.Customers will be able to browse the three acre site packed with 10,000 chilli plants and pluck as they like for just 20pence each.
Joanna Plumb, 41, and husband Shawn, 45, will launch the scheme at Edible Ornamentals in Chawston, Bedfordshire, when the first plants mature next month.
They will also have the world’s hottest, the Dorset Naga and Bhut Jolokia – over THIRTY TIMES hotter than Tabasco sauce (recommended to be eaten with goggles and gloves for safety).
Joanna told the Mail: “People have a real desire to get back to nature and pick their own food and with their wheel barrow they can pick as much or as little as they want.”
“No one else in the country is doing this.”
Hmm we wonder why..
