Many Kids Love Cooking!

Egg

Bright side of survey reveals children love making dinner.

The headline figure in a recent survey from Morrisons might show that up to 75 of children believe that an egg needs to be boiled for more than ten minutes, but surely that’s a good thing?

By experimenting with food, and seeing their own results, I suspect that the second time they boil an egg they’ll get it just right.

As with any survey that asks broad questions like “do you like to watch TV or play on the internet rather than cook” the doom and gloom merchants can point out the downfall of civilisation at this generation; utterly failing to point out that if 37% go for internet and TV, that leaves more than 6 in 10 children saying they prefer cooking.

So let the kids play in the kitchen, around the house, and outside. When it comes down to it, they’ll learn quickly when they need to.

Fun statistics from the Telegraph.
