The MPs expenses scandal has angered many UK residents, but one man has gone that step further – by submitting a planning application demolish the House of Commons.
Stand up comedian and part time law student Tony Hickson wants to knock down the home of UK Parliament and put a nature reserve in its place.
The application, submitted on June 4, boasts a "duck hotel" for migratory species as well as a badger bridge. The 40-year-old from Crouch End who studies law at London South Bank University said: "I think it would make a good nature reserve or even a landfill site."
Although the House of Commons is listed, Westminster planning allows for relaxed regulations when applying to demolish listed buildings if your building is a nature reserve.
