Five – 42 Goals in 46 Appearanes
Following his arrival at Old Trafford in 2003, Ronaldo was somewhat of unknown quantity. But come 2006/2007 the winger struck 26 goals in 58 appearances and he became a household name.
2007/2008 was when Ronaldo really shone. The Portugese international netted a staggering 42 times in just 46 appearances and was the talk of the footballing world.
Four – Free Kick Against Blackburn – 21/02/09
With United being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Blackburn in February, the champions were awarded a free-kick to the left of the penalty area. Ronaldo quickly ushered everyone away and fired home a thunderbolt to give United the lead.
Three – Free Kick Against Portsmouth – 30/01/08
The fixtures computer had thrown United, what could have been a tricky Wednesday night fixture at home to Portsmouth.
But a Ronaldo double within the space of three minutes, including this pearl of a free kick was enough to see off the Pompey challenge.
Two – Free Kick Against Sporting Lisbon – 27/11/08
Drawing 1-1 at home to Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League on a cold November evening, Ronaldo brought Old Trafford to life with another stunning free kick, this time in injury time to give United the win.
One – Porto Away – 15/04/09
After drawing the first leg at Old Trafford 2-2, United had to make history to progress into the Champions League semi-finals – they needed to be the first English team to win away at Porto.
Ronaldo came up with goods yet again, with this amazing strike.
