Manchester City players get a small gift from their new owner.
It seems that the offer of sky high wages aren’t the only advantages of signing for Manchester City these days.
The billionaire owner, Sheikh Mansour, has also given his players a small token of his appreciation, in the shape of a £168,000 Franck Muller Watch.
The team were invited to stay at the five star Emirates Palace Hotel and were given the watches at a royal reception at Sheikh Mansour’s palace in Abu Dhabi.
A club source said: “Manchester City’s players are now the most pampered on earth, and they were greeted like kings.”
It is rumoured that Arsenal striker Ammanuel Adebayor is close to agreeing a deal to sign for City, worth £170,000 a week. Will the extra gift be the persuasion he needs? ‘Watch’ this space.
