Zombie film with £45 budget to hit big screen | The Daily Dust delivering the best bric a brac, daily news and events with a British flavour

A horror film made for just £45 on a camcorder is to be released in cinemas.

The zombie movie, Colin, was filmed in London and Wales. The director, Marc Price, also wrote, filmed and produced the movie.

It took the 30-year-old 18 months to complete, while he worked for a courier company.

Mr Price said: “The whole thing is just insane. I really thought it was a joke when I was told.”

“I hope that this will encourage others to go out with their video cameras and make films.”

He advertised on facebook and myspace for actors, and spent the £45 budget mostly on crowbars and refreshments.

The main character, Colin, played by Alastair Kirton, is a man who is bitten by a zombie, dies and is resurrected as one of the flesh-eating un-dead.

There will be a sneak preview at the Frightfest fantasy and horror film festival in London next month.

The film will hit the big screen to terrify zombie impersonators at Hallowe’en.
