So all footballers are stupid right? Wrong.
Jamie Farmer, 16, could probably get into any sixth form college of his choice after achieving 10 A*s in his GCSE results.
Jamie, however, has different ideas. The talented goalkeeper has just signed a two year contract at Millwall Football Club and is hopeful of a professional career in the game.
Jamie, who attended Portsmouth Grammar School, Hants, said: “I’m delighted with my results but they have not changed my mind about becoming a professional footballer.
“Some of my friends are surprised that I have followed this route because I have the potential to do well at college or university. But they also know football is my passion.
“I have played football for as long as I can remember and I have never wanted to do anything else.”
Jamie has not turned his back on his studies just yet though, as he will take A-levels in maths and English with a private tutor in his spare time.
