Desperatly Seeking Susan

Madge is back, as the old songs finally send her to the top of the charts.

With her final album for Warners being a Greatest Hits collection, there was every chance this would be a big seller, and that’s proved to be the case for the Queen of Pop. It’s the eleventh album from the American to top the charts.

And she;s not alone in the Top 40 Albums, as Cliff Richard and The Shadows, Peal Jam, Madness and Tommy Steele all make it back. It really is an oldies chart this week.

Over in the singles, congrats to Taio Cruz who breaks the run of “only spending a week at number one” as Break Your Heart makes it two weeks on top.

Oh and how did Jade Ewen get on? Well even with her signing up to the Sugababes, her second release, My Man, scrapes into the Top 40 at #35. Given her Eurovision single peaked at #27. Looks lilke the record company getting her signed to the band was the right career choice.
