Brand Bids Farewell To His Thatch
November 5, 2009 by Mark Glenning
Tatty-headed Lothario Russell Brand is making the ultimate sacrifice for his career and cutting his hair.
The actor and comedian is taking the step as he claims his distinctive look is limiting his acting opportunities.
Brand, 34, kept his locks for the role of rock star Aldous Snow in romantic comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall but will have to undergo a radical re-styling if he is to land his dream acting role – Napoleon Bonaparte.
He said: ”I was hoping one day to play Napoleon, but I can’t play him as this shaggy-haired, bearded raconteur.’
”But I did also want to play Rasputin, so that’ll be good, I can look like this.”
The actor’s Hollywood star is on the rise – he will feature in the remake of the Dudley Moore comedy Arthur next year and will reprise his role of Aldous Snow in Get Him To The Greek.
