They’re not from Manchester and they’re not an orchestra, but they are a great band.

Before Manchester Orchestra supported Biffy Clyro on their UK tour earlier this month, we spoke to Andy Hull via email. However, half of our chat has gone missing in the virtual airwaves, so what follows is a much reduced Best of compared to normal. Still, it’s better than nothing!

Best news you’ve had today?

Just put an offer on my wife and I’s first home. Terrifying and exhilarating all at once.

Best thing about touring the UK?

Petrol station sandwiches.

Best thing about being in Manchester Orchestra?

It sounds like Nirvana and I wanted to be in Nirvana.

Best song your band has written?

‘Shake It Out’

Best line you’ve ever written?

“and I don’t really know Why I began to cry It’s just a f*cking ball game Lebron will probably sleep pretty well tonight, Tonight, tonight.” (from the tune ‘Go’)

Best thing about your fellow band members?

They are my best friends.

Best gig you’ve ever played?

Sold out Variety Playhouse on December 20, 2008 in Atlanta, GA. With All Get Out, Dead Confederate, and Kevin Devine & the Goddamn Band.
