Hollywood big-shot Nicolas Cage has agreed to turn on Bath’s Christmas Lights.
The actor, who owns two homes in the Somerset City, agreed to switch on the illuminations after receiving a note through his door from local resident Emma Samways.
Cage, whose films include Captain Corelli’s Mandolin and Gone In Sixty Seconds, was said to feel “privileged and excited” after being asked to turn on the lights.
Bath City Council have not stated the fee involved for Cage’s appearance but, looking at his properties, it’s not like he needs the money.
The Hollywood star owns a £4m home in the city of Bath itself and a £5m castle (above) in the nearby village of Midford, Somerset.
