Peter Kay Stays Top of the Animated Charts

Jimmy Hibbert’s Children in Need single still at number one.

It’s another week for the motley collection of children’s characters as the nation’s favourite single. With proceeds going to the Children in Need charity, and Peter Kay fronting the effort the nostalgia has kept the momentum going.

Elsewhere the singles chart has a bit of shuffling around, but no real movement – the next big shock is likely to be Cowell’s assault via the X-Factor on the Christmas number one.

But the ghost of Christmas Past has already infected the album charts with both Westlife and Take That bring their older hits back to the charts, while the Black Eyed Peas are still in the Top Five, and are turning out to be this year’s Kings of Leon in terms of longevity.

And the top album… it’s still Susan Boyle.
