X-Factor Winner gets only a single week at Number One.
Joee McElderry’s chart topping run is over. Denied the Christmas spot by Rage Against the Machine, he got the consolation prize of a belated number one last week, but the first Number One of the new decade belongs to Lady Gaga as bad Romance, in its tenth week in the charts, claims the top spot.
The other big winner this week in the singles line-up is Ke$ha, who pushes 3OH!3 out of the top five.
It’s not quite all change in the Album Charts – yes we have a different number one, but Paolo Nutini’s Sunny Side Up is now 31 weeks in the charts – almost as long lived as Lady Gaga (again) who just needs The Famme to stay in the Top 40 to make it a whole year in the charts. Find out if she does next weeek here at The Daily Dust.
