Igloo Raw

A man has braved the Arctic weather and sub-zero temperatures to spend a night in an igloo in his garden.

So if you were feeling the cold in your bed last night, spare a thought for David Munt.

Mr Munt, 28, from Potter’s Bar, Hertfordshire, spent an entire night in his garden igloo, with only several layers of clothes and a candle for warmth.

Mr Munt Said: “It’s really quite surprising to see what a single candle will do to the temperature of a little box. I kept myself under wraps and I was fine.”

Mr Munt decided to take up the chilly challenge after spending the previous day making the igloo from snow and ice, with help from the children on his street.

He was so impressed by the teamwork and effort the children put in to the igloo that he promised to spend the night in it.

Mr Munt, a golf and fitness instructor, added: “Every single kid in the street has been part of this, they put in so much effort, they worked as a team and they did it all off their own back.

“I think it was great. You don’t see kids playing today in the streets, not like when I was a kid, and there are a good number of kids here, that’s the fun of it, everyone’s involved.”
