Ashley Cole’s latest injury could mean John Terry and Wayne Bridge playing together in England’s next friendly.
It has been revealed that Cole is set to miss the rest of the season after fracturing his ankle against Everton on Wednesday.
The injury looks likely to see a re-call to the England squad for Bridge, resulting in the reunion with Terry.
If Capello selects both Terry and Bridge for the friendly against Egypt on March 3 all eyes are sure to be on the on-pitch relationship between the pair.
Terry is currently taking a break from football after allegations he had an affair with Bridge’s ex-girlfriend.
Meanwhile, Fifa President, Sepp Blatter, has weighed in on the argument over Terry being stripped of his England captaincy.
Never one to mix his words, Blatter said: “This is a special approach in Anglo-Saxon countries. If this (the affair) had happened in, say, Latin countries, I think he (Terry) would have been applauded.”
