The wonder drug that lurks in every vindaloo.

It’s pretty much accepted that a little bit too much alcohol isn’t good for your body. especially to your poor liver. What’s needed is a substance that manages to slow down the negative effects of alcohol on a liver. And it looks like scientists from Austria have found one.

Curcumin.

Which is part of the turmeric spice, and can be found in pretty much every curry in the UK. The Daily Record reports on this significant news (or excuse) for that late night pitstop in the local curry house after a few beers.

If you’re looking for an extra hook, then try this… American scientists reckon that curcumin might have a place in preventing the onset of dementia, while the Irish based Cork Cancer Research Centre points to its gullet cancer killing properties.

And it stops you feeling hungry as well!
