The campaigning never stops, and neither does The Dust’s campaign watch.
It might be the weekend, but the election gets ever closer. What did you miss today? Let’s find out.
Labour
Don’t blame the managers for the football, blame Labour! That’s the view of Mr Eugenides, who reckons that Chelsea and Man United are suffering in Europe because Gordon ‘Raith Rovers’ Brown has devalued their spending power on the international transfer market by 25%. Discuss with the use of Alan Hansen.
Meanwhile the Twitter comments of the Labour candidate in Moray have come back to bite him on the banana, as they’ve resulted in him standing down due to them being of an inappropriate behaviour. maybe he could pass them on to Frankie Boyle?
Conservative
Expenses? They were causing problems even in 1984, according to a released letter by Margaret Thatcher that The Telegraph has a hold of. If only the current MP’s had heed the words of the Iron Lady stressing “…it was important to be sure that what MPs provided for themselves could be defended to the general public.”
And for those watching the opinion polls, it’s finally reached the rather handily 40/30/20 split, and as usual with polls, Political Betting and the commenters there are always ready to discuss in very fine detail what it means – the short answer is a comfortably majority for the Conservatives, no matter what Uniform National Swing says.
Liberal Democrat
The Lib Dems have found at least one person willing to vote for them… Gordon Brown. He spent most of today explaining why people should vote Lib Dem, and not for his party, Labour. The reason? To stop the conservatives getting an MP in your local area.
Supermarkets
Meanwhile Asda are encouraging Mums to blog on the Asda website about the election. A few points to raise here: 1) why not blog on their own sites 2) where do Asda stand politically and 3) what about the Dads…
