Ferguson Admits Title Is Slipping Away | The Daily Dust delivering the best bric a brac, daily news and events with a British flavour

Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted the Premiership title race is in Chelsea’s hands.

Manchester United had the opportunity to regain top spot on Sunday but could only manage a 0-0 draw against Blackburn.

The result leaves Sir Alex’s team one point behind Chelsea, having played a game more.

Following the 0-0 draw at Ewood Park, Sir Alex said: “It is going to be very difficult to win this league.

“It has slipped away from us today. We have a lifeline if Chelsea blow it.”

Chelsea, who made it through to the FA Cup Final with a 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Saturday, have the opportunity to go four points clear on Tuesday night.

Ancelotti’s side face Bolton in the Premier league, a game that Sir Alex Ferguson is not expecting them to slip up in, adding:

“They have an easy game against Bolton on Tuesday which we’d expect them to win and that will put them four points clear.”

With only four further games left to play after Bolton, three points on Tuesday night would give Chelsea a huge advantage in the title race.
