Chelsea claim the Premier League title by thrashing Wigan 8-0.
Goals from Kalou, Lampard, Ashley Cole, a brace for Anelka and a hat-trick for Drogba saw off 10-man Wigan.
The victory stopped Manchester United claiming their fourth title in a row, with Chelsea captain, John Terry, adding:
“We’ve got it back now and we need to do what Man Utd have done and maintain it for a few years. It’s been up and down all year, it’s been really tough but it’s ours today, we deserve it.
“Nothing could have made me more determined to win the trophy. I’ve been hurting inside seeing Man Utd and I promise you every one of us has sat there and watched it. It’s their turn to sit there and watch.”
Chelsea now have the opportunity to claim their first ever league and cup double when they take on Portsmouth in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
Manchester United finished off their season with a convincing 4-0 victory against Stoke but it was all in vain due to the result from Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal clinched third spot with a 4-0 win over Fulham, while Tottenham remained fourth after losing 4-2 against already relegated Burnley.
