Joyce Burt, 43, from Leeds, has developed a duvet cover which opens on three sides, which means a quilt can be easily slipped in and secured in seconds.
Most duvet covers have an opening at one end, most people use the technique of turning the cover inside-out and holding the corners and trying to shake the cover into place. This is difficult for short people or those with small arms.
Joyce found £15 to spend on some fabric and ran up a duvet cover which was open three sides with buttons attached.
She said she was astonished no one had thought of the idea before and immediately spotted its potential. She has since patented the design and launched her own company, Quande Duvet Covers.
Matalan are interested in stocking the product, which would make a huge return on investment for Miss Burt.
