Bloodhound ready to be assembled | The Daily Dust delivering the best bric a brac, daily news and events with a British flavour

The 1000mph car hits the factory floor as construction begins.

By the end of this week, the metaphorical keel on the first car designed to go at 1000 mph will have been laid. The Bloodhound SSC’s rear chassis is the first element to be constructed, by Hampson Industries.

At this point most news reports will pass out crazy numbrs to show how silly the project is, but we’re happy to go it’s a car that does 1000 mph. Do you need to know any more (apart from if it is exempt from road tax?)

Hat tip to the BBC.
